In this section we review equipment that we are using on this adventure which is applicable to Motorcycle Travel i.e. camping, navigation, clothing, camp cooking, gadgets, photography, motorcycle accessories etc. Points of consideration would be applicability, necessity, practicality, durability etc................

The METALMULE Balance Pannier System as fitted to my BMW R1200GS Adventure is a strong, robust and well finished product. It includes a professionally designed and developed METALMULE exhaust system which boosts midrange performance and fuel consumption in addition to a lifetime guarantee. The main advantage as I see it is the fact that luggage weight can be distributed evenly in two equally sized panniers. On a short journey it is not so critical if one pannier is smaller than the other or carries more weight than the other, but on a journey of
+/- 360 000 km it will make a serious difference.

I am very familiar with the BAGSTER Tank Cover and Tank Bag. I have been using BAGSTER products from 1996 on three different Honda Africa Twin motorcycles and a Honda Varadero which I rode until 2006. The Selection of quality tools contained in the bag covers most BMW bikes and all the GS derivatives, enabling the completion of most repairs including the removal and replacement of both back and front tyres.
